About the Instructor: Carsten Østerlund is a Professor at Syracuse University’s School of Information Studies. Trained at MIT’s Sloan School of Management and with research experience at Xerox PARC, his work explores how people use information systems and documents to collaborate, learn, and share knowledge across distributed and virtual environments. His studies span healthcare, open-source software, citizen science, and other fields where technology shapes everyday work and communication.
